ANXIETY
Anxiety is attributed to lack of social skills, internal fears and/or negative thinking.
Treatment: We encourage people to face their fears--while training people and providing resources to the people to handle/manage their fears/anxiety.
A Testimony: "Tobias shows a promising ability to create and maintain a strong working alliance with his clients. He demonstrates a warm, understanding and caring attitude consistently with his clients, which appears to put them at ease in the counseling process (Mentor, 2010).”
- Negative cognitions may be developed by negative upbringing of the person (e.g., early childhood experiences such as bullying, neglect, etc.)
- Anxieties in some individuals are rooted from their childhood experiences such as caregivers' excessive/not or less caring. For example, a caregiver who is over protective may induce a fear in a child of facing the world by himself/herself; a child with a caregiver who is less or not caring may think he/she can manage the world alone (a Global Manager): This may result in feelings of anxiety in the person
- Feelings of anxiety are triggered also by the busy world we live in today
